How to Use Dexcom G7 Sensor:

The Dexcom G7 is a continuous glucose monitoring device that is inserted on the skin. It can easily be used by both adults and children.

1. Insert the Dexcom G7 Sensor

Recommended sensor placement:

• Ages 7 years and older: Back of the upper arm
• Ages 24 months to 6 years: Back of the upper arm or upper buttocks

Avoid placing the sensor on areas that:

• Have loose skin or not enough fat, to avoid muscles and bones
• May get bumped, pushed, or pressed while sleeping
• Are within 3 inches of an infusion or injection site
• Are near a waistband
• Have irritation, scars, tattoos, or a lot of hair

Before you begin:

1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Choose a spot on the back of the upper arm that is unlikely to get bumped and has enough fatty tissue.
3. Clean the area with an alcohol wipe and let it dry for at least 10 seconds.
4. Unscrew the applicator cap. Do not touch the inside of the applicator.
5. Press and hold the applicator firmly against your skin.
6. Push the button to insert the sensor.
7. Rub firmly around the patch three times to help it stick.
8. Gently press on the sensor for 10 seconds.

2. Apply the Overpatch

The overpatch helps keep the sensor securely attached. It is included in the box with your instructions.

1. Carefully remove the clear liners one at a time. Do not touch the white adhesive area.
2. Use the colored tab to place the overpatch around the sensor. A mirror may help with placement.
3. Rub around the overpatch to help it stick.
4. Use the tab to peel off the colored liner.
5. Rub around the overpatch again.
